Our Commitment to Accuracy
Every cost estimate on FixHomeCosts.com is derived from publicly available government data. We do not fabricate numbers, use unverified crowd-sourced data, or allow advertisers to influence our cost estimates.
Data Integrity Standards
- Primary sources only — All labor cost data comes from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS program
- Transparent methodology — Our methodology page explains exactly how we calculate every estimate
- Source attribution — Every data table includes its source and last-verified date
- Regular audits — We audit 10% of our pages monthly against fresh BLS releases
Affiliate Disclosure
Some pages contain affiliate links to home service platforms (e.g., Angi, Thumbtack). If you click these links and hire a contractor, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence our cost estimates. The data is the data.
Who, how, and why
- Who: Sathya, licensed technician, 15 years of service. See About.
- How: Labor inputs come from BLS OEWS. We apply the formulas on methodology. We do not write a unique novel for every city; city pages that exist use the same wage math plus local BLS/MSA context. Thin one-paragraph service hubs are not treated as indexable guides.
- Why: So a homeowner can sanity-check a bid against public wage data—not so we can occupy every “[service] cost [city]” query on the web.
Content Review Process
- Data pull — Pipeline fetches latest BLS/Census data
- Cost calculation — Formula-based estimates per our methodology
- Hub-first publishing — We deepen bathroom, kitchen, HVAC, plumbing, and roofing. We do not grow the sitemap while those hubs are still earning trust.
- Expert review — Licensed contractor reviews estimates for reasonableness
- Publication — Page published with data source citations and verification date
